Union College currently boasts 22 former student-athletes that played professional hockey during the 2018-19 season. Below are some of the offseason transactions that have transpired so far this summer.

Daniel Carr (2010-14) – Forward
Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/GM David Poile announced July 1, that the team has signed forward Daniel Carr to a one-year, $700,000 contract for the 2019-20 season.

Carr, 27, won the Les Cunningham Award as the AHL's most valuable player with the Chicago Wolves last season, recording 71 points (30g-41a), tied for the third-most in the league. He was also fourth among AHL skaters in plus-minus (+35) and tied for eighth in goals (30); both marks established career highs.

Shayne Gostisbehere (2011-14) - Defense
Entering year three of a six-year $27 million contract with the Flyers.

Keith Kinkaid (2011-14) – Goaltender
Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Monday that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, one-way contract (2019-20 - $1.75 million) with free-agent goaltender Keith Kinkaid.

The 6-3, 195 lbs netminder appeared in 41 games with the New Jersey Devils and Columbus Blue Jackets in 2018-19, posting a 15-18-6 record. Three of his wins were shutouts. Kinkaid registered a 3.36 goals-against average along with a .891 save percentage.

The 29-year-old goaltender has played 151 games in the NHL since making his debut in 2012-13 with the Devils. Kinkaid has compiled a 64-55-17 record, with a 2.90 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage, registering seven shutouts.

Mike Vecchione (2013-17) – Forward
The St. Louis Blues announced July 1, that they have agreed to terms on a two-way contract with Mike Vecchione.

Vecchione, 26, put up 38 points (15g, 23a) in 67 games for the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms last season. The Saugus, Mass., native appeared in two games for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2016-17, but was held scoreless.

American Hockey League
Nick DeSimone (2014-17) – Defense
DeSimone inked a two-year, two-way contract with San Jose on July 11, worth $1.4 million at the NHL level.

Finished the 2018-19 season as one of San Jose Barracudas' top defensemen, racking up 14 goals and 46 points in 65 games.

Cole Maier (2015-19) – Forward
Signed with the Manitoba Moose (Winnipeg) for the 2019-20 season.
Maier, 24, scored one goal in three games with the Moose in 2018-19. Prior to joining Manitoba, Maier accumulated 32 points (9G, 23A) in 39 games in his fourth and final season at Union College. The Pequannock, N.J. product was a finalist for ECAC Defensive Forward of the Year, while finishing tied for ninth in the conference in points and tied for fourth in assists.

Ryan Scarfo (2014-18) – Forward
Re-signed with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh) for the 2019-20 season.

Scarfo is coming off of his rookie season during which he was traded by the Belleville Senators to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Dec. 5, 2019. Scarfo played 25 games with the Penguins, posting a goal and six assists for seven points in that time. In 44 career AHL games, Scarfo has registered 11 points (3G-8A).
Jeff Taylor (2013-17) – Defense
Hartford Wolf Pack (NY Rangers) general manager Chris Drury announced today that the Wolf Pack has signed defenseman Jeff Taylor to an AHL contract.

Taylor, a 25-year-old native of Clifton Park, NY, has split his first two pro seasons between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL and the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers. In 42 games with the Penguins in 2018-19, the 6-0, 185-pound Taylor scored two goals and added six assists for eight points while serving 33 minutes in penalties. In his only ECHL appearance of the season, Taylor contributed one assist to the Wheeling attack.

In 62 total AHL games, Taylor has chalked up two goals and seven assists for nine points, along with 41 penalty minutes. In 29 career ECHL contests, he has amassed four goals and 16 assists for 20 points, plus 26 PIM.

East Coast Hockey League
Mark Bennett (2011-15) – Forward
Included on the Orlando Solar Bears' (Tampa Bay) 2019 Protected List as of June 3.

Played the 2018-19 season with Fehérvári Titánok of the Erste Liga in Hungary. Totaled 55 points (21g, 34a) in 58 games.

J.C. Brassard (2014-18) – Defense
Agreed to terms on a Standard Player Contract to return to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the 2019-20 season.

Brassard, 23, will enter his second full professional season after injuries shortened his first full year in Greenville. In the 34 games he did play, he scored a pair of goals and added 12 assists. Five of those 14 points came on the power play. Prior to the beginning of preseason, the young blueliner received an invite to the Cleveland Monsters' (AHL) training camp.

Max Novak (2011-15) – Forward
The South Carolina Stingrays (Washington) announced July 2, the signing of forward Max Novak to a contract for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Novak, a native of Oak Ridge, N.J., is entering his fifth professional season and most recently played in Sweden for Tingsryds AIF during the 2018-19 campaign where he scored 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 52 games.
Alex Sakellaropoulos (2013-17) – Goaltender
The Norfolk Admirals announced that they have signed Sakellaropoulos for the 2019-2020 ECHL season.
Sakellaropoulos, 25, posted a record of 19-5-3-1 record last season in the ECHL for the Adirondack Thunder, notching a 2.38 GAA and .919 save % with 3 shutouts. Sakellaropoulos appeared in 2 AHL games last season with the Springfield Thunderbirds, posting a 2.90 GAA and .900 save%. He was named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of December 17-22.
Brett Supinski (2015-19) – Forward
Agreed to terms on a Standard Player Contract with the Maine Mariners (New York Rangers) for the 2019-20 season on July 30.

Signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Ontario Reign (Los Angeles) after the conclusion of the 2018-19 collegiate season. Skated in two games with the Reign. Totaled 23 points (9g, 14a) during his senior year at Union.
Charlie Vasaturo (2011-15) – Defense
One of eight players that the Reading Royals (Philadelphia) issued qualifying offers to.

Played in 58 games with the Royals during 2018-19, totaling three goals and 12 assists from the blue line.
Ryan Walker (2015-19) – Forward
Agreed to terms on a Standard Player Contract with the Adirondack Thunder (New Jersey) for the 2019-20 season.

Signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Binghamton Devils (New Jersey) after the conclusion of the 2018-19 collegiate season. Skated in one game with Devils, and also skated in five games with the Adirondack Thunder at the end of the season. Compiled 29 points (15g, 14a) during his senior campaign with the Dutchmen.

Mat Bodie (2010-14) – Defense
Signed with Växjö Lakers HC of the SHL in Sweden for the 2019-20 season.

Played in 39 games, totaling three goals and 13 assists from the blue line for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL in 2018-19.

Signed with Stjernen Hockey of the GET-ligaen in Norway for the 2019-20 season.

Spencer Foo (2014-17) – Forward
Signed with HC Kunlun Red Star of the KHL for the 2019-20 season, opening the ability to play in the 2020 Olympics.

Played 2018-19 season with the Stockton Heat (Calgary), scoring 17 goals and 21 assists in 67 games.

Josh Jooris (2010-13) – Forward
Signed three-year contract with Lausanne of the NLA in Switzerland.

Played the 2018-19 season with the Toronto Marlies (Toronto), scoring eight goals and nine assists in 87 games.
Liam Morgan (2017-19) – Forward
Signed with the Belfast Giants of the United Kingdom's Elite Ice Hockey League.
Morgan appeared in 29 games as a freshman with Union in 2017/18 and led all rookies on his team with six goals as well as ten assists and was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team. 2018-19 saw Morgan post an impressive 14 goals and 12 assists, good for 26 points in 38 games played. The 5'11" Canadian, from Whitby in Ontario, finished the season in second place for goals scored and third in points as well as picking up a winners medal in the 2018 Friendship Four.

Signed with ERC Ingolstadt of the DEL in Germany.

Played the 2018-19 season with the Rochester Americans (Buffalo), where he compiled 21 goals and 26 assists in 75 games.

Signed with Gherdëina in the Alps Hockey League for the 2019-2020 season.

Jake Kupsky (2015-19) – Goaltender
Currently a restricted free agent with San Jose.

Signed with the San Jose Barracudas after the conclusion of the 2018-19 collegiate season, but did not appear in any contests before the Barracuda were eliminated from the playoffs. Posted a 23-21-5 record, with a 2.86 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage during his four-year career at Union.
