PAXTON, M.A.— Seniors
Griffin Cowles and
Jeremy Conn combined for nine points to lead Union College men's soccer to a decisive 6-1 win over Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts on Tuesday night. The team improves to a 5-0 record on the season for the first time since 2017 with the thrilling win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Dutchmen opened up scoring in the first half with a goal in the 14th minute. Cowles received the ball in front from Conn to score his first goal of the season to make it 1-0.
- Union continued to shine in the first half, with a goal from senior Yasin Dombayci from inside the box. First-year Evan Farr scored his first of his career in the 45th minute off a pass from senior Salvador Lopez Jr. to give Union a 3-0 lead going into halftime.
- Anna Maria finally got on the board in the second half, with a goal from Hezekiah Adeyeye to get them on the board in the 50th minute.
- Cowles and Conn led the team in the second half, with Cowles scoring a goal in the 72th minute from a pass by Conn. Conn later scored six minutes later with an assist from Cowles in the box to make it 5-1.
- First-year Nate Boule scored in the last four minutes of the game to make it 6-1. Boule's goal was his first on the season and the first of his career.
- Union outshot Anna Maria 24-5 on the day. First-year goaltender Kenyon Pelletier earned his second straight win on the season.

The Dutchmen return to action against Lehman in Bronx, N.Y. on Saturday, September 14th. Kickoff is slated for 2 pm.
