Alison Sorkenn led the Union College women's soccer team to a impressive 2-0 win over Mount Saint Mary in Newburgh, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Dutchwomen now have a winning 3-2 record on the season before the start of Liberty League play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Â Union opened up scoring in the first half of the game, with a goal from Boone. Boone collected the ball from sophomore Bella Dworkin, and played through into the box to score in the low middle of the net to make it 1-0. This goal marks Boone's first of the season and the first of her career.
- The Dutchwomen continued to shine offensively in the second half, with a goal from sophomore Emma Schleimer to make it 2-0. Schleimer dribbled it in from outside the box, and buried it to the far post in the 84th minute to score. With the goal, Schleimer becomes the season leader in goals and points for Union with 2 and 5, respectively.
- Union outshot Mount Saint Mary 14-8 on the day. Sorkenn finished the game with 5 saves to secure her third win and her second straight shutout of the season.

The Dutchwomen begin conference play at home, on Saturday, September 21 against Saint Lawrence University. Kickoff is slated for 3 pm at College Park Field.
