SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Five different players scored as the Union College men's soccer team scored the final five goals of the game to defeat Manhattanville College by a decisive 5-1 score on Saturday afternoon at College Park Field.

Seniors Salvador Lopez, Jr. and Yasin Dombayci and junior Poom Mera led the way for Union (3-0) with a goal and an assist each. Senior Jeremy Conn and first-year Christian Rufo both scored as well for the Dutchmen, who are 3-0 for the third time in the last four seasons.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Manhattanville opened up the scoring of the game, with their lone goal coming in the second minute from a goal by Pablo Bravo Olle.
  • The Dutchmen came alive in the 20th minute, when Rufo collected a pass from Dombayci and tied the game with the first goal of his collegiate career.
  • Conn collected his team-leading fourth goal on the season with 2:19 remaining in the first half to give Union the lead. Conn received the ball from junior Conor Willsie in the box to score and make it 2-1.
  • The Dutchmen continued to roll offensively in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals from Dombayci, Lopez, and Mera. Dombayci's goal in the 50th minute is his first goal on the season, while Lopez matched Conn with his team-best fourth score of the season.
