Lee Starts 2020 with Liberty League Weekly Honors

TROY, N.Y. – Freshman Megan Lee of the Union College women's basketball team started 2020 on a high note, earning the first Liberty League Performer of the Week honors of the new year, the conference office announced on Monday.
 
Lee scored a team-high 16 points and added seven rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench to lead Union to a 72-62 win over Utica College on Friday. The freshman hit 7-of-11 shots from the field and added two assists, two blocks and a steal in a solid all-around effort. Lee came up huge during the pivotal second stanza, hitting all five shots and finishing with 11 points as part of a dominating 31-13 period that helped clinch the win.
 
Through eight games, Lee leads Union by averaging 9.1 points per game and shooting 50.9 percent (29 of 57) from the field. She also is averaging 5.2 rebounds per contest in addition to chipping in nine steals and three blocks.
 
Lee and the Dutchwomen return to Liberty League action on Friday night at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
