SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's soccer team celebrated their 2021 soccer class, Saturday afternoon at College Park Field when they hosted Ithaca College. Union had another late push, but Ithaca was able to weather the storm, figuratively and physically, and defeated Union 2-1.

Ithaca scored twice in the first half, propelling themselves out to a 2-0 lead over the Dutchmen. Those goals came just 7 minutes apart. The first goal was scored in the 25th minute and the second in the 32nd minute.

In the second half, it was a different story. Union put the pressure on the Bombers and as the rain began to come down with about 20 minutes to play, Union picked up the pressure. Sophomore Robbie Michalski scored in the 82^nd minute on a cross that slipped through the goalie's hands and Robbie headed the ball into the back of the net. Sophomore Kurt Mahlke made the cross that resulted in the goal. Union had a couple more shots but nothing found the back of the net.

Union (4-7-1, 0-6-0) will play again on Wednesday, October 20^th; as they host Bryant & Stratton in their final regular season home game. Kick off is at 7 p.m. for that game.
