SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team finished up its fall season on Sunday with an 8-1 loss to perennial Liberty League power Skidmore College at the Union Tennis Courts.
Junior
Marilena Karadimou and sophomore
Gracie Nicol put up a good effort in their first-doubles matchup with Lily Feldman and Konika Dhull before falling, 8-4, while juniors
Hallie Katzman and
Rayna Katzman dropped an 8-3 match at third doubles to Audrey SooHoo and Chanhtel Thongphok.
In singles play, first-year
Paige Tromblee earned Union's lone win of the day thanks to a retirement by Ella Provost in the sixth-singles match. First-year
Gabby Gatto also played well, coming up one break short in the first set of her third-singles match with Dhull in a 6-4, 6-1 defeat.
The Dutchwomen will spend the rest of the fall and winter preparing for the bulk of Liberty League play in the spring, beginning on February 25 at St. Lawrence University.
