SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's hockey team welcomed Cornell University to Messa Rink, Friday evening. Union was shut out 3-0.

After a scoreless first period, Cornell broke through first. Cornell capitalized on a loose puck and fired it into the open goal, following a net front scramble. Sophomore Josie McLeod had a breakaway a couple minutes later, but was not able to find the back of the net either.

In the third period, Cornell extended their lead to 2-0, when they scored just seconds into a power-play. This came at the 6:10 mark. Cornell would tally for a third time six and half minutes later. Cornell would win by a final of 3-0 over Union.

Sophomore goaltender Olivia Rinzel made 30 saves. Sophomore Hope Crisafi made 2 saves when she made her collegiate debut in the third period. Union went 0-4 on the power-play and went 2-3 on the penalty kill.
