The 2021-22 season will kick off on October 8 with the first of two games at the University of New Hampshire. The long-awaited home opener follows on October 15, when Colorado College and former Dutchman Kris Mayotte '06 make the cross-country trek to Messa Rink at Achilles Center for the front-end of a two-game weekend series.

Union will continue non-conference play at NCAA Tourament participant Lake Superior State University (October 22-23) before jumping into ECAC Hockey play with a home-and-home series with local rival Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The Dutchmen and Engineers will play at Messa Rink on Friday (October 29) before moving across the river to Troy for a Saturday (October 30) matchup.

November sees only two home games for the Dutchmen, as Clarkson University and 2021 ECAC Hockey Tournament champs St. Lawrence University come to Schenectady on November 5 and 6, respectively. A weekend series at Cornell University and Colgate University follows, and then the team returns from finals break to take on Merrimack College in a non-conference clash on November 27.

Road games at Princeton University and 2021 ECAC Hockey regular-season champs Quinnipiac University begin the month of December, followed by a two-game non-conference set at the University of Maine. Union will bid goodbye to 2021 and hello to 2022 at home with a big two-game series with reigning national champions University of Massachusetts Amherst set for December 31 and January 1.

January brings with it the bulk of ECAC Hockey play, beginning with two straight weekends on the road before returning to Messa Rink on January 21-22 to host Brown University and Yale University. The month closes out with the annual Mayor's Cup game against RPI, set for January 29 at the Times Union Center.

Union trades off away and home weekends in February, featuring Messa Rink stops for Colgate and Cornell (February 11-12) as well as the final weekend of the regular season at home against Harvard University and Dartmouth College on February 25-26.
