SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team fell to Liberty League frontrunner Skidmore College by a 9-0 score in a conference matchup on Sunday afternoon at the Union Tennis Courts.
Skidmore (3-0, 3-0 Liberty League), which had not played in two weeks, extended its conference winning streak to 36 matches, while Union (2-1, 2-1 Liberty League) suffered its first loss of the season after two straight wins.

Marilena Karadimou gave a tough fight to Risa Fukushige and Maya Lal before falling, 8-5.
First-year
Gracie Nicol had a solid showing in her fifth singles match with Chanhtel Thongphok, taking the first set by a 6-2 score. After Thongphok came back to take the second by a 6-4 score, Nicol came up a few points short in the supertiebreaker, falling 10-6 to close out the day.
Union will return to the court on Saturday, when the team hosts Vassar College in its home regular-season finale beginning at 11 a.m.
