SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Union College men's soccer team faced off against conference opponent Skidmore College Friday evening at College Park Field. The Dutchmen fell 2-1 in the contest.

Robbie Michalski scored the lone goal for the Dutchmen from the penalty spot. Junior goalie
Kenyon Pelletier stopped nine shots in the effort.
Skidmore College opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Kamal Ibrahim tapped in a loose ball that deflected off of Pelletier. Five minutes later in the 41st minute, Michalski was knocked down in the box and given a penalty kick. The initial attempt from Michalski was stopped by Bobby Stratts, but he finished off the rebound to tie the game 1-1. Shots were even in the first half 6-6.
In the second half each team traded chances and the game would come down to a foul in the Union box that led to a penalty kick for Skidmore. Finn Weber would score from the spot in the 85th minute giving Skidmore the lead and ultimately the win. Skidmore outshot Union 7-3 in the second half.
The Dutchmen (3-2-0) get back to work on Sunday, September 19th when they travel to Lasell University for a non-conference matchup
