Four Dutchmen Score in 5-0 Win over Lasell

 

 
NEWTON, M.A. – The Union College men's soccer team faced off against Lasell University on Sunday afternoon at Taylor Field. The Dutchmen dominated in 5-0 win. 
 
Sophomore Matt Dougherty scored two goals in the game and led all scorers. Sophomore Luca Richo added a goal and an assist. Junior Craig Miller and first year Wyatt Goldfisher each added a goal. Sophomores Robbie Michalski and Ethan Layton added an assist each. First year Ethan Klopfer has an assist as well. 
 
The Dutchmen broke through in the 18th minute when Dougherty scored, five minutes later Dougherty would add his second tally of the game to make it 2-0. Union outshot Lasell 10-5 in the first half. 
 
In the second half it was more of the same for the Dutchmen. Miller would score on an assist from Richo in the 65th minute. Four minutes later Richo would add a goal making it 4-0. In the 87th minute Goldfisher would add a goal to seal the win at 5-0. Union outshot Lasell 20-3 in the second half. 
 
Sophomore Sean Speck and junior Kenyon Pelletier both played in the game and shared the shut out stopping all three shots that made it on net.  
 
Union (4-2) will get back to action on Tuesday, September 21st when they travel to North Adams, M.A. to face off against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at 6p.m.
