Union Draws Against MCLA; 1-1

NORTH ADAMS, M.A. – The Union College men's soccer team traveled to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Tuesday afternoon at Shewcraft Field. The Dutchmen played to a 1-1 draw.   

Sophomore Robbie Michalski scored the goal for the Dutchmen in the 73rd minute. His goal was assisted by junior Christian Rufo.

The first half was a fairly even split with no score and Union holding the shot advantage 6-4.

In the second half Michalski would break the ice in the 73rd minute. The goal came off a rebound. Rufo assisted the goal and Union led 1-0. In the 83rd minute Gabe Dias scored for MCLA to even the score at one. Union outshot MCLA 14-6 in the second half.

Both teams would play into overtime looking to decide a winner. After 20 minutes of overtime there he game was still no winner and the game resulted in a tie, 1-1. Union held the shot advantage in the overtime period, 5-2.

Junior Kenyon Pelletier made 3 saves in the game.

The Dutchmen (4-2-1) get back to action on Saturday, September 25th at 3 p.m. when they travel to St. Lawrence University to take on the Saints in conference game.
