BABSON PARK, N.Y. – The Union College field hockey ran up against a very strong Babson College squad on Saturday afternoon, as the Dutchwomen dropped a 4-0 match to the NFHCA #12 Beavers at MacDowell Field.
Babson controlled play from the outset, scoring its first goal just 25 seconds into the contest and adding two more in the first quarter to take a commanding 3-0 lead. However, the Union defense did not quit and limited the Beavers to just one goal over the final 45 minutes.
Senior
Heather Poisson had a fantastic game in goal for Union, turning aside 17 shots – including six each in the first and third quarters. The total is the third-highest of her career and the most since she made 22 stops against Hartwick College on October 3, 2017.
Union will return to action on Wednesday, when the Dutchwomen make their 2021 home debut against Keuka College beginning at 4 p.m.
