About the Dutchwomen:
- The Dutchwomen will kick off the 2022 season as they welcome in Princeton and Quinnipiac for a ECAC weekend match up. Union traveled to Quinnipiac and fell 2-1 in a nail-bitter earlier this season. The Tigers topped the Dutchwomen 4-2 early this season as well. Union split their series with Franklin Pierce back on December 10th and 11th. Union won the game on Friday, 4-0. They fell 4-2 to the Ravens on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchwomen had six different goal scorers over the weekend. Union went 3-6 over the weekend on the power-play. Senior Grace Heiting leads the team in goals with eight and points with 12 on the season. Sophomore Celeste Beaudoin and junior Emily King are tied with seven assists each to lead the team. First-year net minder Sophie Matsoukas earned her first career shutout against the Ravens, Friday night, stopping 20 shots in the effort. She is 2-4-0 on the season. Matsoukas and sophomore Olivia Rinzel have shared time in the net this season. Rinzel has a 2-12-1 record with a 3.86 GAA and a .877 save percentage. Matsoukas is 2-4-0 on the season with a 3.51 GAA and a .900 save percentage. 

About the Tigers:
- The Tigers come into Messa Rink following a loss to Clarkson. Princeton is 1-1 in the new year including a win against Long Island University. Junior Maggie Connors leads the Tigers in goals with nine goals on the season. She also leads the team in points with 13. Freshman Mia Coene and sophomore Annie Kuehl are tied with five assists apiece. Senior Rachel McQuigge is 6-6-2 with a 1.47 GAA and a .954 save percentage. 

Last Time They Played
- Princeton beat Union 4-2 earlier this season. Princeton went 3/8 on the power-play in the game. Senior Grace Heiting scored twice in the game. 

Historically Speaking: 
- Union is 1-33-1 all time against Princeton. Union's last win came in the 2013-14 season in Schenectady. 
About the Bobcats: 
- Quinnipiac comes into Messa Rink following a 3-2 loss to Clarkson. Quinnipiac is 0-2-1 in the new year to this point. Graduate Student Taylor House leads the team with 10 goals. Junior Sadie Peart is tied a top the team with 12 assist and leads the team with 18 points. Senior Lexie Adzija also has 12 goals this season. Graduate Student Corrine Schroeder has a 8-3-2 record with a 1.22 GAA and a .955 save percentage. 

Last Time They Played: 
- Union fell 2-1 to Quinnipiac earlier this season in a close game. Union jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal from Ashley Adams. The Bobcats scored late in the second to tie the game and then scored with 90 seconds left in the third to come from behind to beat Union. 

Historically Speaking: 
- Union is 1-33-4 against the Bobcats. Union's last win was a 4-2 win in the 2019-20 season in Schenectady.  

MAC Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month:
- First year Sophie Matsoukas was named the MAC Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month as she posted a posted a 0.71 goals against average and a .978 save percentage as well as earning her first collegiate shutout and win for the Union College women's hockey team. Matsoukas went 2-0 in two starts and made 91 saves in 93 shots in the month of December. She was also named MAC Goaltender of the week on December 14th. 

Rookie of the Week: 
-First-year Maren Friday was named Rookie of the Week on October 4,  following a four point weekend sweep against the Tigers of RIT. Friday has a goal and an assist in both games. Union started the season off 2-0-0. 

Fresh Faces: 
- The Union College women's hockey team enters the year with 15 players who have never played a collegiate hockey game. Seven sophomores are returning after not seeing the ice last year because of the pandemic, while eight first-years will played in their first colegiate games for the Dutchwomen in the season opener at RIT.

Captains: 
- Cassidy Michalicka was named the captain following serving as an assistant captain in the 2019-20 season for the Dutchwomen. Classmate Grace Heiting was named a captain for the 2021-22 season as well.
