CANTON, N.Y. – The Union College women's hockey fell to St. Lawrence University, Friday evening at Appleton Arena. The Saints scored twice shorthanded in the 5-1 win over the Dutchwomen.
Junior
Emily King scored her second goal of the season. This goal coming in the power-play. Sophomore
Allison Smith tallied her first collegiate point with an assist on the power-play.
The Saints got the scoring started on a partial break and the shot from the left circle found its way past sophomore net minder
Olivia Rinzel. Union would answer at the 15:34 mark of the first period to tie the game at 1-1. Following a loose puck in front of the net, King was able to jam the puck into the back of the net on the power-play. Sophomores
Josie McLeod and Smith tallied assists on the goal. St. Lawrence jumped back in front at the 18:44 mark of the first period, scoring a short-handed goal.
St. Lawrence extended their lead with a short-handed goal at the 10:41 mark of the second period. Union had three power-play opportunities to try and find a goal and were unable to. Shots were 9-9 in the second period.
St. Lawrence tallied two more times in the third period to extend their lead to 5-1. Sophomore

Hope Crisafi shared time in the net. Rinzel and Crisafi each made 12 saves for a total of 24.Union went 1-4 on the power-play and 2-2 on the penalty kill.
The Dutchwomen will travel to Potsdam, N.Y. tomorrow for a 3 p.m. puck drop with #7 Clarkson at Cheel Arena.
