#3/4 Yale Rolls Past Union

NEW HAVEN, C.T. – The Union College women's hockey fell 6-1 to the #3/4 Yale University from Ingalls Arena on Saturday afternoon. Junior Meredith Killian scored her collegiate goal in the effort, while first-year Emily Evans made her debut in relief, stopping 33 of 36 shots.

Killian scored her first collegiate goal on the power-play with assists coming from sophomores Paige Greco and Emma Hebert. Evans was great in relief for Union. She made 33 saves including 15 in the second period.

The Bulldogs scored three times in the first period and added their fourth in the second, before scoring two more times in the third to jump out to a 6-0 lead. The Dutchwomen ended the Yale shut out with 4:30 to go in the contest on the power-play.

Hebert brought the puck from around the net and raced up ice and into the zone. She centered a pas to Greco who back handed the puck to the near side post where Killian was waiting. Killian, one timed the pass and beat the Bulldog net minder to end Yale's shut out bid.

Union went 1-3 on the power-play and a perfect 3-3 on the penalty kill.

Union (8-8-1, 3-5-1) will play again one more time in 2022, as they travel to take on Franklin Pierce for a weekend series next weekend, December 16 and 17. Puck drop for Friday's game is set for 7:30 p.m. from Winchendon, Mass.
