HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Union College men's tennis team swept a pair of matches on day two of Spring Break, defeating Augustana College, 7-2, and Allegheny College, 8-1, on Tuesday at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Club.
 
Junior 
Aidan O'Brien led the way for Union (3-4) with four victories on the day, winning both of his singles and doubles matches. Senior 
Cameron Klepper also had a perfect day with one singles and two doubles victories, while sophomore 
Dimitris Binopoulos won both of his singles matches and split two doubles contests for a three-win outing.  
 
Union 7, Augustana 2
 
Union started the morning by sweeping all three doubles matches in the first outing, setting a good tone for the remainder of the day. Klepper and sophomore 
Bailey McAtee earned the first point with an 8-5 win at third doubles, followed by the Binopoulos brothers winning by the same score at first doubles. O'Brien and first-year 
Ben Jacobs completed the sweep with a hard-fought 8-6 win at second doubles.
 
Binopoulos and O'Brien clinched the win in singles play, with Binopoulos cruising past Timothee Philip, 6-2, 6-3, in fourth-singles action before O'Brien finished off Deepak Vayara, 6-3, 7-5, at the third flight. First-year 
Ian Schunk followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win at fifth singles before Klepper finished off the win with a 10-3 supertiebreaker victory after he and Kyle Boudreau split a pair of 6-3 sets.
 
Union 8, Allegheny 1
 
The Dutchmen found more success later in the day, dropping only one doubles match and sweeping all six singles contests in an 8-1 win.
 
Union had little trouble in second and third doubles, with Jacobs and O'Brien easing past Adam Shinomiya and Benny Gantrish, 8-2, after Klepper and McAtee got the Dutchmen on the board at third doubles with an 8-1 win over David Salazar II and Fabrizzio Reategui.
 
No Union player dropped more than six games in singles play as part of a dominant Dutchman effort. Schunk and sophomore 
Khai Ton led the way by dropping just one game each in matching 6-0, 6-1 wins at fourth and sixth singles, respectively. Jacobs moved up to first singles and came out with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Anton Hedlund, while O'Brien and Binopoulos completed their perfect singles days with easy wins and junior 
Thomas McGuire also posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at fifth singles.
 
Union will close out their Spring Break trip tomorrow with a 3 p.m. match against Carleton College.
