TROY, N.Y. – Senior Keaton McCann of the nationally ranked Union College men's lacrosse team was honored as the Liberty League's Co-Offensive Performer of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. McCann earned the second weekly award of his career after leading the Dutchmen with seven goals and eight points in two games against nationally ranked teams last week.
 
His second goal of the game was the eventual go-ahead tally in Union's 13-12 win over #5 St. John Fisher College on Wednesday, and the senior followed up with a game-high five goals and six points in a one-goal loss to #3/4 Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday.
 
McCann ranks third on the team in scoring so far in 2022, netting 21 goals with 12 assists for 33 points. The senior has multiple goals in seven of his last eight outings and has recorded at least two points in 10 straight contests.
 
McCann is closing in on 100 goals for his career, as he enters the week in a three-way tie (along with teammate Hayden Frey) for eighth place in school history with 97 career tallies while adding 30 assists for 127 career points.
 
Union starts the week ranked fourth in both national polls, holding steady in the USILA rankings while dropping one spot in the Inside Lacrosse poll. The Dutchmen will prepare for their sixth nationally ranked opponent of the season on Saturday, when the team travels across the river to battle #12/20 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute beginning at 1 p.m.
