POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team finished out the 2021-22 Liberty League schedule on Saturday, falling 8-1 to #25 Vassar College at Josselyn Courts.
Having already clinched a berth in the Liberty League Tournament with yesterday's win, Union (5-7, 3-5 Liberty League) battled hard against the top team in the conference, but managed only one victory.
Junior
Marilena Karadimou had the lone victory of the day for the Dutchwomen, making quick work of Macey Dowd at second singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory, her second double bagel of the weekend.
Sophomore
Gracie Nicol also battled hard at the top flight, coming a couple breaks short in a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Tatum Blalock.
Union will close out the regular season on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. match against SUNY Oneonta at the Union Tennis Courts.
