DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Union College baseball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader to St. Lawrence University Wednesday afternoon at Northeast Regional Park. Union fell 2-1 in game one before dropping an 8-5 decision in game two.

Game One: St. Lawrence 2, Union 1
Union dropped game one in heartbreaking fashion. Tied at one apiece in the bottom of the seventh inning, St. Lawrence walked it off for the 2-1 victory.

Four Union starters registered a hit in the loss. Junior Thomas Parisi registered a hit and Union's lone run while senior Jack Milone went 1-for-2 as a pinch hitter with the RBI.

After three scoreless innings, the Saints struck first in the bottom of the fourth. After striking out the leadoff batter, Jimmy Liberatore drove a triple deep into the outfield. A single by Timothy Connor one batter later gave St. Lawrence a 1-0 lead.

Union knotted the game up in the top of the fifth. Parisi capitalized on a throwing error by the Saints' shortstop to reach first to open the frame. A sac bunt by senior Dan Choate put Parisi on second. With runners on first and second, Milone entered the game as a pinch hitter and hit a RBI single to bring Parisi home.

Tied at one going into the bottom of the seventh, the Saints took advantage of a pair of Union errors for the score. With runners on second and third, senior Huck Haun singled into left center to bring home the game-winning run.

A single by Santos put runners on first and third, where Milone cashed in on the second wild pitch of the inning. The Saints extended the lead back to six only half an inning later.
