WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Union College baseball team dropped a 16-9 decision to Williams College in seven innings on Wednesday afternoon at Bobby Coombs Field.

Three different Union players recorded a multi-hit game. First-year Andrew Keaveney went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored while classmate Liam McIlroy also went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Senior Jono Santos went 2-for-3.

After junior Thomas Parisi drew a bases-loaded walk for the 1-0 lead, Keaveney hit a sac fly into left field to give Union a 2-0 lead in the opening frame. Williams responded quickly with four runs in the bottom of the frame.
Williams doubled the lead in the bottom of the third, taking a 14-3 lead.

Union plated six runs in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to five runs. Junior Kobe Mentzer drove in a pair of runs on an RBI double to right field. First-year Caleb Miller scored Union's sixth run on a passed ball. Back-to-back-hits from Keaveney and McIlroy drove in two and senior Julian Lightburn drove in the ninth run on a sac fly.
