AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – The Union College baseball team earned an 11-3 win against Bard College in game one of the weekend series Friday night at Shuttleworth Park.
Union (9-8, 2-2 Liberty League) scored double-digit runs for the fourth time this season while holding Bard (4-10, 2-5 Liberty League) to three runs, marking the seventh time this year Union has held a team to three runs or less.

Union tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-0 lead. After loading the bases, first-year
Caleb Miller drove a single into right field which was mishandled by the right fielder, giving Miller time to reach third and three runs to score.
The visitors responded in the top of the fifth inning with a solo homerun into left center field. Bard added a second run in the sixth after a bases-loaded groundout gave the visitors a chance to cut the lead to four.
Union tallied two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on the corners, junior
Kobe Mentzer doubled to center field, plating two runs to regain a six-run lead.
The Raptors scored their final run of the game in the seventh stanza, capitalizing on a passed ball to cross home.
The Union offense wasn't finished and recorded three more runs in the bottom of the eighth. Santos reached base on a dropped fly ball and two runs scored on the play. With runners on the corners again, Union performed a double steal with senior
Jack Milone stealing second and Santos stealing home.
Sophomore
Chris Suter earned his fourth win in his fourth start. Suter pitched six complete innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out four. Junior
Bryce Fournier pitched the final three innings, allowing one run, unearned, on three hits with two strikeouts.
Union travels to Bard tomorrow for a doubleheader with the Raptors. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Honey Field.
