SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College baseball team dropped a 13-10 decision to Castleton University Tuesday afternoon at Central Park Diamond A.

The Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first three and a half innings. Union cut the lead in the bottom of the third stanza with an RBI single by first-year Liam McIlroy.

The Union bats tacked on five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. After Zaslaw scored on a wild pitch, junior Thomas Parisi hit a bunt single and Milone raced home to tie the game. Junior Kobe Mentzer gave Union the lead with a sac fly before Santos sent a two-run blast over the wall to give Union a 6-3 lead.

Union took a 7-3 lead in the sixth. Senior Jack Davis doubled down the left field line and moved to third on a sac bunt by Parisi. A groundout by first-year Cooper Ames gave Davis time to race home.
