SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Union College women's soccer team fell to the St. Lawrence Saints by a score of 2-0 in their Liberty League opener on Tuesday night at College Park Field.
Â
After a little over 40 minutes of back-and-forth action that saw both teams battling the blustery conditions in the opening half, Zoe Rogan broke the scoreless tie with less than five minutes left in the first frame. Emma Reynolds added their insurance goal on a one-touch goal off a perfectly placed cross on a run to the net between two Union defenders just under 17 minutes into the second half.
Â
Even down a pair of goals, Union responded strongly. The Garnet Chargers spent most of the remainder of the game in their offensive half, and had a number of chances within the 18-yard box, even hitting a post. The Garnet Chargers totaled five shots on net and seven corner kicks in the contest, while sophomore goalkeeper
Rachel Berliner stopped three shots in the game.

Union (2-3-1) returns to Liberty League action on Saturday when they travel to Poughkeepsie to take on Vassar College with kickoff set for 2 PM.
