BETHLEHEM, P.A. - The Union College Men's Soccer team fired 24 shots, including nine on net, in their Tuesday contest at Moravian, but were unable to find the back of the net in what turned out to be a 0-0 draw.
Â
Two-time reigning Liberty League Rookie of the week
Marco Perugini led the way with career-highs of six shots and three on goal, followed by
Grant Della Rocca's career-highs three attempts and two on target. Four other Garnet Chargers attempted multiple shots, while four others also put shots on goal.
Â
On the other end, first year
Paul Agne made a career-high five saves to pick up his second career shutout. Agne has now registered back-to-back shutouts after he blanked Vassar in Union's 1-0 victory Saturday.
Â
15 of Union's shots came in the second half alone, including six on goal. Union had six shots in the final six minutes, including
Burke Bogardus's opportunity just before the final horn, but were unable to beat Moravian goaltender Christian Beebe.Â
Â
Union registered 13 corner kicks in the match to just one for Moravian.
Â
After Union's victory over Vassar in their Liberty League opener at home this past weekend, the Garnet Chargers make the trip crosstown to face Rensselaer this upcoming Saturday for their first road conference match of the 2023-24 schedule. Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM.
