Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Russell Sage 1-0

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Sophomore Taylor Bovardi scored the lone goal in the Union Women's Soccer 1-0 win over Russell Sage College on Wednesday night.

Union dominated the first half of the game with eight shots to Sage's one, but the game remained scoreless.

At half time, Union junior goalkeeper Rachel Berliner stepped in the net for sophomore goalkeeper Maya Koster.

Bovardi opened the scoring at 47:17 in the second half. A corner kick by Hannah Sams found the head of junior Anne Pearl. Pearl redirected the ball to the center of the goal box for Bovardi to right-foot the ball into the left top corner of the net.

Union added six shots and three corners to Sage's three shots in the second half. Berliner recorded one save on the evening.

Women's Soccer is back in action when they travel to Rensselaer Polytech Institute on Saturday for a conference matchup. Kick off is set for 1:00 pm.
