Dartmouth struck back only 39 seconds later to retake a one-goal lead. After two Union skaters headed to the box late in the second, Dartmouth capitalized with a power-play goal of their own. John Fusco went off for holding, prompting both teams to skate 4-on-4. Hanley took a shot from the left-wing circle that bounced off of Black's pads to Prokop waiting on the doorstep for the short-handed goal.

Dartmouth regained a one-goal lead with a short-handed goal a few minutes later from CJ Foley. The visitors scored the eventual game winner at 5:20 of the game.
