EWING, N.J. – The Union College women's tennis team kicked off the opening weekend of the spring season on Saturday afternoon at The College of New Jersey, falling 6-3 to the Lions at the TCNJ Recreation Center.

Sophomore Claire Langille played a role in two of Union's three victories on the day. She started the day by teaming with classmate Skylar Semon to pick up an 8-4 win over Prisha Priyadarshini and Gabriella Robinson at third doubles, and then closed out the afternoon with a pair of 6-4 sets over Robinson in their sixth-singles matchup.

First-year Luisa Arizpe-Sierra also earned a point for the Garnet Chargers on the afternoon, coming back from a set down to defeat Chase Eisenberg in third-singles action, 2-6, 6-1, (10-7).

Union was competitive in several other matches against the unbeaten Lions, coming one break short of reaching supertiebreakers in first, second and fifth singles play.

Union will get back on the court tomorrow with a 4:30 p.m. match against Division I Lafayette College in Lebanon N.J.
