SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Head coach
Josh Hauge announced the 2024-25 schedule for the Union College men's hockey team on Tuesday afternoon.
"I'm really excited about the schedule we put together for the final season at Messa Rink," said Hauge. "There are some great teams coming to Schenectady and we have some tough road opponents. I can't wait to get back on the ice with the team this fall."
The schedule consists of 34 games with seven non-conference opponents and the 11 other members of ECAC Hockey.
The 2024-25 schedule opens with an exhibition game on Oct. 5 at home against Providence. The Garnet Chargers host Army West Point on Sunday, Oct. 6 in the first regular season game.
Union heads east the following weekend with a trip to Stonehill on Oct. 11 before making the trip to Agganis Arena for a Saturday matchup with 2024 Frozen Four participant Boston University.
The garnet and white host Mercyhurst for the first time since 2004 with a two-game series beginning on Oct. 18 at Messa Rink.
Alaska Fairbanks comes to Schenectady for the first time to kick off the November slate. The first game against the Nanooks is slated for Nov. 8.
Union heads to Niagara Falls on Thanksgiving Weekend for a two-game series against Niagara on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30.
Vermont comes to town on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14 for the last games before the winter break.
The annual Mayor's Cup game against Rensselaer closes out the non-conference schedule on Jan. 25 at MVP Arena in Albany. Union has won the last three Mayor's Cups against the Engineers.
Union opens ECAC Hockey play with a home-and-home series with the RPI on Oct. 25-26 before hosting St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Nov. 15-16.
The Garnet Chargers open December with a trip to Princeton and Quinnipiac on Dec. 6-7 for the final ECAC Hockey contests of the calendar year.
Charging into 2025, Union is on the road for the first four games of the year beginning on Jan. 3-4 against Brown and Yale before a trip to the North Country on Jan. 10-11 to face Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
Union plays the next four ECAC Hockey games at home with Dartmouth and Harvard on Jan. 17-18 before hosting Yale and Brown on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
In the final full month of the regular season, Union heads to Colgate and Cornell before hosting Quinnipiac and Princeton Feb. 14-15.
The final road trip of the regular season takes Union to Harvard and Dartmouth on Feb. 21-22.
Union closes out the regular season at home on Feb. 26 against Cornell and March 1 against Colgate.
