SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Men's Soccer battled the Brandeis University Judges to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon at College Park Field.
The Judges put the pressure on in the first half outshooting Union 7-5, but the Garnet Chargers struck first.
First-year Alexander Vittal, after receiving a well-placed through ball from first-year Owen Everett, dribbled forward on the left side of the 18-yard box and slotted the ball into the low right corner of the net.
Brandeis maintained their offensive pressure in the second half, but the Garnet Chargers continued to shut down their opportunities until just over two minutes left, when the Judges found the game-tying goal.
A free kick found its way to the left side of the 18-yard box, where Christian Godinho headed the ball into the right side of the net.
Union finished with seven shots to Brandeis's 15. Union goalkeeper Jackson Magee tied his season and career high with 11 saves on the evening.
Men's Soccer returns to action Tuesday when they host Albany Pharmacy. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
