Serino's Two Goals Pace Field Hockey Past Russell Sage

ALBANY, N.Y. - First-year Bobbi Serino scored a pair of goals to lead the Union College field hockey to a dominating 4-0 victory over Russell Sage College on a soggy Saturday afternoon at the UAlbany Turf Field.

Serino recorded the first multi-goal game of her young career and was joined on the scoresheet by senior Shaelyn Kelley and sophomore Maddie Greco. Senior Kristen O'Shea added an assist as well for Union (3-1).

The Garnet Chargers put together a commanding performance for the second straight game, outshooting Russell Sage by a 34-1 margin and putting 24 shots on target.

Serino opened the scoring less than three minutes into the opening period, getting the ball in the left side of the arc and sweeping it across the goalmouth into the far corner for her second tally of the season. After more than 21 minutes of scoreless action, Kelley doubled the lead in the 24th minute with her second tally of the season.

Greco scored for the third time in four outings 5:47 into the third period and Serino finished off the scoring just over three minutes later off a pass from O'Shea.

Junior Sophie Brady made one save in 45:00 of action to earn her third win of the year and sophomore Marion Stuntz played a scoreless fourth frame to complete the shutout.

Union will return home on Wednesday to take on SUNY Oneonta beginning at 6 p.m.
