SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's soccer team clinched its first postseason berth since the 2023 season on Senior Day with a 0-0 draw against #11 Hobart College Saturday afternoon at College Park Field.
Union (6-5-5, 3-1-4) earned a point in the match, sitting in fourth place—one point ahead of St. Lawrence University (6-8-0, 4-4-0) and one point behind Vassar College (8-4-3, 4-1-2) in third place.

In the first half, the Statesmen outshot the Garnet Chargers 5-3. Hobart earned its first chance of the game five minutes in when Brady Leitner's initial shot was blocked by Union's defense. Hobart's La Zai Outerbridge jumped on the rebound, but his attempt was also turned aside by the back line.
Hobart's Quinn Phillips fired a shot just over the crossbar in the 20th minute, while junior
Declan Crowley responded with one of his own that sailed high in the 33rd. The Garnet Chargers' best opportunity came in the 28th minute when sophomore
Julian Badger's shot went just wide of the left post. Neither team could capitalize, sending the match into halftime scoreless.
The Statesmen continued to press in the second half, outshooting Union 6-2. Perry came up big in the 65th minute, diving to his right to rob Outerbridge of the go-ahead goal, his lone save of the game, to secure the draw and fourth shutout of the season.
Union wraps up its regular season on Saturday, traveling to St. Lawrence University for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
