ITHACA, N.Y. – Led by an All-Conference and school-record performance by sophomore
Annabel Dobash in the 5,000 meters, the Union College women's indoor track & field team recorded three career bests and 13 points to sit in seventh place after day one of the 2025 Liberty League Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at Ithaca College's Glazer Arena on Friday.
Dobash had a fantastic run in the 5,000 meters to pace Union on day one, smashing her own program record by over 26 seconds with a time of 18:30.85 that earned her All-Conference honorable mention and a spot at the AARTFC Championships with a third-place finish. She was joined in the event by classmate
Emilie Rosecan, who finished in 20:21.24.
Senior
Cat Dacey started the day with a podium finish for the Garnet Chargers, placing sixth in the mile with a time of 5:09.35, less than four seconds off her program-record time from earlier this season.

Gabby Baker posted the best time of her career in the 400-meter dash, placing seventh in at 1:00.25. She also was Union's top finisher in the 60-meter dash as well, clocking in with a time of 8.32 seconds to place 15th overall. Sophomore
Madison Brandy also ran the 60 for the Garnet Chargers, finishing in 9.09 seconds for the best time of her collegiate career.
Sophomore
Ashley Sheldon just missed qualifying for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles, placing ninth out of 21 runners with a time of 9.52 seconds.
Senior
Lauren Armstrong led three Garnet Chargers in the shot put with a top mark of 8.43 meters, followed by first-year
Lauryn Johnson (7.97 meters) and senior
Sundee Kroyer (7.58 meters).
Union closed out the first day with another podium finish in the distance medley relay, as the all-sophomore quartet of
Madison Brandy,
Devon Hardy,
Ella McCarthy and
Amelia Wagner finished seventh in 14:49.46.
Union will be back in action on day two of the Liberty League Championships from Ithaca tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m.
