WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Senior
Cat Dacey finished her collegiate career with another program-record run and the Union College women's outdoor track & field team earned 10 points to finish in a tie for 26th place on the second and final day of the 2025 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships, held on Thursday afternoon at Williams College's Weston Athletic Complex.
Union finished the two-day event with 11 points, tying for 26th out of 55 schools competing. The Garnet Chargers earned points in four events over the two days and saw two more personal bests fall on day two.
Dacey appropriately set yet another record in her final individual event, starting the day by taking 3.5 seconds off her program-best 1,500-meter time by crossing the line in 4:37.60. The senior took fifth out of 30 runners to earn four points for the Garnet Chargers and also improve on her seed by seven spots.
Sophomore
Ashley Sheldon grabbed another fifth-place finish for Union in the high jump, clearing 1.62 meters on her second attempt after one miss at the opening height as well. Sheldon will now have to wait and see if her season-best mark of 1.67 meters will hold up and send her to nationals for the second straight year; she entered the day in a four-way tie for 19th nationally, with the top 22 heights making it to Geneva, Ohio.
Senior
Gabby Baker also finished her collegiate career with a flourish, shaving a second off her season-best time and half a second off her personal best with a finish of 57.86 seconds in the 400-meter dash. The senior won her heat by nearly a second and placed 12th in a competitive 23-runner field, moving 10 spots up the results from her seeding.
First-year
Kyleigh Record represented Union in the 800 meters as well on Thursday, finishing 15th out of 28 runners in 2:19.28.
The team closed the day with the 4x800-meter relay, with the quartet of Dacey, Record, senior
Caroline Kelly and sophomore
Annabel Dobash earning one last point with an eighth-place finish. The foursome combined to run the track in 9:38.97, with Dacey providing a strong start in 2:18.32 and Dobash closing with a 2:21.64 anchor leg to hold on to a podium spot.
The team hopes to have one more event on the schedule this year, as Sheldon waits to see if she will be headed to Ohio for the Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The final selections will be revealed on Friday by 8 p.m.
