SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior
Patrick Reilly and junior
John Sula of the Union College men's lacrosse team were recognized as two of the top players at their positions in Division III by earning USILA All-American honors for the 2025 season, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced on Thursday afternoon.
Both Reilly and Sula were tabbed as honorable mention All-Americans by the USILA, while Sula also was named an honorable mention by
USA Lacrosse Magazine last week.
Reilly finishes out his career with a second straight All-America recognition, coming off of USILA second-team laurels and
USA Lacrosse Magazine honorable mention in 2024. A key member of the faceoff and defensive midfield units, he ranked second on the team with 46 ground balls and caused nine turnovers as a senior. The short-stick middie recorded at least one ground ball in each of his last 34 games at Union and finished his three-year playing career with 124 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers to go with four goals and four assists.
Sula earns All-America honors for the second straight season after being named to the
USA Lacrosse Magazine second team and the USILA third team as a sophomore. The long-stick midfielder earned a second consecutive All-Liberty League first-team nod after ranking top-three on the team with 41 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers in 2025, while also scoring a career-high two goals and adding two assists. He recorded at least one grounder in every game this season and will enter his final year 13th in program history with 144 career ground balls.
In addition to his All-America honor, Reilly also was selected to participate in the annual USILA Senior All-Star Game, which is being held on Friday, May 23 at Roger Williams University. Reilly is one of three SSDMs on the North roster and one of six players to represent the Liberty League in the annual matchup. The Division III game will take place at 4 p.m. at RWU's Bayside Field. Union has had at least one senior represent the College at the event in every season since 2010 with the exception of 2022, when the team was preparing for the national championship game.
