Men's Soccer Falls to #6 Williams 2-0

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Union College men's soccer team fell to #6 Williams College, 2-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Cole Field.

Williams (3-0-2) controlled much of the play in the first half, registering seven shots on goal against Union's senior goalkeeper Jacob Perry, while the Garnet Chargers managed just three shots on target. Despite the disparity, both teams entered halftime scoreless.

The Ephs broke through in the second half with goals in the 65th and 88th minutes. The first goal was a shot that slipped just past Perry, and the second came from the penalty kick.

Union (2-3-1) generated one final shot on goal late in the match, but Williams' keeper Kai Darrell made the save to preserve the shutout.

In the second half, Union recorded three shots on goal to Williams' four, giving the Ephs a 12-7 edge in shots on target overall.

Perry made a career-high 10 saves in the loss, while Darrell stopped seven for Williams.

Union returns to action next Tuesday opening Liberty League play against Skidmore at College Park Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
