SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Junior
Luke Ingber netted his first goal of the season in the Union College men's soccer team's defeat against Clarkson on Saturday afternoon at College Park Field 2-1.
Union controlled play through the opening 10 minutes, earning three corners before Clarkson registered its first shot.
Senior goalkeeper Jacob Perry made two saves in the first half to keep the match scoreless, while Union was held without a shot on target.
The Golden Knights broke the stalemate in the 54th minute to take a 1-0 lead, but the Garnet Chargers responded two minutes later. After collecting a pass from senior Justin Ely, Ignber fired a shot to convert on his first goal of the season.
However, Clarkson regained the lead eight minutes later on a goal by Paul Rolland.
Union pressed for another equalizer, firing three shots in the final four minutes, but could not convert.
Men's Soccer returns to College Park Field on Tuesday hosting King's (Pa.) at 7 p.m. for a non-conference match.
