KEENE, N.H. – The Union College women's cross country team had another solid showing at Saturday's Keene State Invitational, placing seventh out of 27 teams at the Owl Athletic Complex.
The Garnet Chargers performed well against some of the top teams in the Northeast, finishing seventh with 254 points, just one point ahead of Plymouth State University in eighth and 45 points behind University of New England in sixth. USTFCCCA #2 Williams College took top honors with a 21-point win over Bowdoin College.
Senior
Annabel Dobash once again was Union's top finisher on the morning, crossing the line in 28th place out of 244 runners with a time of 22:57.1 She was joined in the top-50 by sophomore
Eilis Mckenna and first-year
Lily Harrow, with Mckenna nabbing 43rd place with a 23:30.5 finish and Harrow ending up 50th after completing the course in 23:47.9.
First-year
Emma Barnes and sophomore
Kate Monaco rounded out the top-five finishers for the Garnet Chargers. Barnes crossed the finish line in 24:13.2 to take 71st place, and Monaco cracked the top-100 by nine seconds with a 24:31.0 run that placed her 90th overall.
Juniors
Isla Langsdorf and
Charlotte Knight also ran well for Union, finishing in 165th and 167th place, respectively. Knight's 26:18.0 time was a new personal best for the junior.
Union will take next weekend off from competition before their final tuneup before championship season, the Connecticut College Invitational, on October 17 at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn.
