GREENWICH, N.Y. – Senior Annabel Dobash cracked the top-five in the program's 6K record book to pace the Union College women's cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the Fairgrounds Showdown, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
 
Union finished the day with 181 points, well ahead of Division I Siena University (249 points) in eighth place and just four points behind Hamilton College (177 points) in sixth. SUNY Geneseo earned five of the top nine finishes to earn a 42-point win over runner-up Vassar College.
 
Dobash was one of several Garnet Chargers to earn personal bests on the day, as her time of 21:46.7 broke a Cat Dacey '25 stranglehold on the program top-10 and finished fifth all-time for the program as well as 12th overall out of 168 runners on Saturday. The senior moved herself up the leaderboard at every checkpoint on Saturday, going from 45th at the 1000-meter mark to 22nd at the midway point, then up to 16th after 4K and into 12th at the end of the race.
 
Sophomore Eilis Mckenna was next to finish for the Garnet Chargers, earning 37th place with a time of 22:34.1. First-year Lily Harrow came one spot from joining her two teammates in the top-50, settling for 51st place after a 22:56.1 race. Sophomore Kate Monaco and first-year Emma Barnes rounded out the team's top-five scorers, with Monaco placing 61st in 23:14.0 and Barnes finishing just over eight seconds later in 65th position (23:22.7).
 
Union will be back on the course next Saturday at the Keene State Invitational.
