Bourque Breaks All-Time Points Record in Union’s 1–0 Win Over Dartmouth

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior captain Stephanie Bourque broke the program's all-time points record while sophomore Karianne Engelbert set the single-season points record to lead Union past Dartmouth, 1-0, Friday afternoon at M&T Bank Center.

Engelbert tallied the lone goal of the game on the power play, with first-year Megan Duplantie and Bourque earning assists.

Union earned its first power play of the evening midway through the first period, and Engelbert capitalized. Bourque fired the puck to Duplantie at the right goal line, who slid it across the top of the crease, where Engelbert tapped it home for what proved to be the game-winning goal. With the goal, Engelbert recorded her 13th career power-play goal of her career. She originally broke the program's all-time power-play goal record during the Mayors' Cup on January 24 against Rensselaer, netting her 11th career power-play goal. Additionally, her seven power-play goals this season are tied for the most in a single season in program history. The goal marked Engelbert's fourth game-winning goal of the season, tying the single-season record, while her seven career game-winning goals rank second all-time.

In the middle frame, Union killed off two back-to-back penalties to preserve the one-goal lead.

In the third period, the Garnet Chargers killed off another penalty, while first year goaltender Emma Rhéaume made 22 of her 43 saves in the final frame to secure the 1-0 win. The victory marked Rhéaume's third career shutout, which is tied for first in the single season record and ranks second all-time in program history.

Union wraps up the weekend tomorrow by honoring its five seniors — Amanda Quan, Greta Kropp, Emily Evans, alternate captain Mallory Mauracher, and Bourque — during its Senior Day game against Harvard at M&T Bank Center. Puck drop is set for 3:00 pm.
