SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team won two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles contests to pick up a 5-2 victory over Division II Saint Michael's College on Friday afternoon at Sportime Capital Region.

Claire Langille and
Skylar Semon were all double winners on the day, playing a role in four of the team's five points. Sophomore
Calista Finkelstein and first-year
Megan McCusker both earned one win each as well for Union (2-3).
Starting off on the doubles courts, Union clinched the opening point by taking the second and third flights. Langille and Semon started off the day with a quick 6-0 win over Olivia Larsen and Ana Maria Ricaurte at the second flight, and Alphabet and Finkelstein secured the point by defeating Annabella Aldrete and Emma Gredenhag, 6-3, at the third flight.
McCusker and Semon quickly moved Union to within a point of victory with straight-set wins, with McCusker defeating Grenenhag by a 6-1, 6-4 score at third singles and Semon taking down Larsen in second-singles action, 6-3, 6-1. After a supertiebreaker win at first singles kept Saint Michael's alive, Langille provided the winning point with a 6-2, 0-6, (10-5) victory over Jedidah Xu in their fourth-singles matchup.
Alphabet finished off her undefeated day with Union's last point of the afternoon, taking down Ricaurte by a 6-3, 6-2 score in sixth-singles action.
Union will take a few weeks off from competition before heading down south for four Spring Break matches in Orlando, beginning on March 22 against Hamilton College.
