NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the third straight indoor season and fifth straight season overall, junior
Ashley Sheldon of the Union College women's track & field team was named an All-Mideast Region selection from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2025-26 indoor season, the association announced on Wednesday.
To earn All-Region honors, individuals must finish in the top-eight of the region in an event and relay teams must finish in the region's top-eight as well. With her recognition, Sheldon continues to expand her own mark for most All-Region honors in program history with six, as she was recognized in both the high jump and the 60-meter hurdles for the first time in her career.
Sheldon made it five-for-five in earning All-Region laurels in the high jump after doing so in both the indoor and outdoor seasons as a first-year and sophomore. After winning the Liberty League title in the high jump with a mark of 1.67 meters (5'5.75") at the Liberty League Indoor Track and Field Championships, she cleared 1.70 meters (5'7") to match her own program record and take first place at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships last weekend. The height places her third in the region and eighth nationally heading into the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Sheldon also earned her first All-Region honor in the 60 hurdles after a program-record time of 9.04 seconds at the Liberty League Championships, which was good for fourth at the conference meet, sixth in the Mideast Region and 64th in the country this year.
Sheldon was joined in the top-20 of the region by sophomore
Kyleigh Record, who ranked 20th in the 800 meters thanks to a time of 2:18.99 at the NYU D-III Invitational in February. To go with the individual efforts, the distance medley relay quartet of junior
Devon Hardy, sophomores
Charlotte Knight and
Isla Langsdorf, and first-year
Eilis McKenna ranked 17th in the region thanks to a 14:00.14 finish at Liberty Leagues, while the 4x400 relay of Record, Hardy, junior
Kat Doran and first-year
Josephine Withbroe finished 20th regionally after a 4:29.71 finish at NYU.
