SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Three members of the Union College women's swimming & diving team were recognized for success in the pool and excellence in the classroom with a spot on the 2025-26 Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators and announced last Tuesday.
 
To be nominated for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must compete in at least 75 percent of the team's competitions or finish in the top-eight at the conference championship, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and reach sophomore athletic and academic standing at the school. All Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.

The women's team three swimmers recognized for the first time in their careers, as juniors Jess Konsky and Chloe Matthews as well as sophomore Kathlyn Pomeroy were all named to the team.

Konsky led the team in three events this season, posting the squad's fastest 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke times of the year, and made the "B" finals in all three events at the Liberty League Championships. Matthews was Union's high-point swimmer at the conference championships, making the "B" finals in the 100 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 400 individual medley, and led the team in seven different events over the course of the season, including a new program record in the 100 individual medley. Pomeroy also reached three "B" finals at Liberty Leagues and posted seven top-eight finishes during the regular season.
  
With the three honors, Union student-athletes have now earned 303 Academic All-District honors since 2001.
