POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team came out on the wrong end of a 7-0 score in a Liberty League match against #39 Vassar College on Sunday afternoon at Vassar's Walker Field House.
Vassar (6-5, 3-0 Liberty League) won all three doubles matches to start the day and then swept the six singles matches to remain unbeaten in conference play. Union (2-9, 1-2 Liberty League remains in sixth place with five Liberty League matches remaining with the loss.
The Garnet Chargers struggled to get any momentum going in singles play, with only one match seeing Union win more than three games. Senior
Kennedy Alexis had the best effort at fifth singles, falling to Liya Pomfret by a 6-2, 6-3 score.
Union will be back on the court on Thursday against SUNY New Paltz.
