TROY, N.Y. – After a 2-0 conference weekend, the Union College women's lacrosse team earned a pair of weekly honors from the Liberty League, while six more Union student-athletes (and one boat) were recognized with honor roll spots for the week ending April 5, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Women's Lacrosse Offensive Performer of the Week: Gillian Joseph
Joseph led Union to a pair of conference victories by scoring six goals with five assists for 11 points to go with five ground balls and three caused turnovers on the weekend. The junior started the weekend with two goals and two assists in a 10-9 victory over St. Lawrence on Friday, recording one point in each quarter. She then went for a season-high seven points in a 13-6 victory over Clarkson on Saturday, scoring four goals with three assists to lead all players in all three categories. She played a role in six of the team's first seven goals against the Golden Knights, scoring three and assisting on three as the home team jumped out to a 7-3 lead that they would never reqlinquish.
Women's Lacrosse Defensive Performer of the Week: Maddie Greco
Greco helped Union to a pair of conference wins over the weekend by collecting a team-best eight ground balls while causing five turnovers and controlling four draws, in addition her pivotal role in the clearing game. The junior had three ground balls and two draw controls in Friday's 10-9 win over St. Lawrence, including controlling the draw that led to the go-ahead goal with 3:03 left in the fourth quarter and then picking up a ground ball on SLU's last possession and earning a clear to run out the clock. She followed up with five ground balls and five caused turnovers in Saturday's 13-6 win over Clarkson, with three CTs, two GBs and two DCs coming in the first half as Union jumped out to a 10-3 halftime advantage.

Men's Lacrosse: Luke Allen
Allen scored four goals with one assist as Union split two games last week. After starting the week with two goals in a 17-5 win at Coast Guard on Tuesday, the first-year added two goals and an assist in a close 9-8 loss to Ithaca on Saturday.
Men's Lacrosse: Walker Popko
Popko recorded 10 points in two games last week for Union, scoring six goals with four assists. He led all players with three goals and three assists for six points in a 17-5 win over Coast Guard on Tuesday, then did the same on Saturday with three goals and one helper in a 9-8 loss to Ithaca. The senior scored or assisted on four of the team's last five goals against the Bombers as Union attempted a late-game comeback.
Men's Crew: Men's Varsity 8+
The Union Varsity 8+ boat took top honors against Amherst, Bryant and UMass on Saturday, as the boat finished with a time of 7:14.60. Led by sophomore

Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Nick Entner
Entner posted a win for Union in Friday's javelin throw at the Utica Spring Invitational, leading a trio of top-three finishers with a winning toss of 48.55 meters. The senior also placed fifth in the shot put (12.04 meters) and 12th in the hammer throw (37.10 meters) on Saturday's second day of competition.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Liam Fitzgibbon
Fitzgibbon took top honors in the 1,500 meters at Saturday's Utica Spring Invitational, pacing three Garnet Chargers in the top-four with a conference-championship-qualifying and personal-best time of 4:06.45.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Annabel Dobash
Dobash had the Union's second-best finish of the day at Saturday's Utica Spring Invitational, crossing the line in 4:53.87 in the 1500 meters to place second and qualify for the conference championships.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Ashley Sheldon
Sheldon started her outdoor season with a first-place finish in the high jump at the Utica Spring Invitational, as the reigning indoor All-American cleared 1.58 meters on her third attempt to take top honors and qualify her for both the Liberty League Championships and AARTFC Championships with the top conference mark of the young season. She also earned a top-three finish in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 15.68 seconds to earn a spot at Liberty Leagues.
