Don LaSala Hired As Assistant A.D. for Facilities

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Don LaSala has been hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities at Union College, Director of Athletics Jim McLaughlin '93 announced on Monday. 

In his role, LaSala will be in charge of scheduling, operations, and programming at the department's athletic facilities. He will also be the event manager for all Union men's and women's ice hockey home contests at M&T Bank Center.

LaSala will assume his duties immediately and can be reached at lasalad@union.edu.

LaSala brings over 20 years of collegiate athletics experience to Union, most recently serving for one year at SUNY Oneonta as the Assistant Athletic Director for Home Event Operations and Community/Campus Engagement. Prior to SUNY Oneonta, he spent more than a decade at Hartwick College as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Facilities and Internal Operations.

At both institutions, LaSala oversaw all aspects of game-day operations while collaborating with coaches and sports information staff to support athletic events. He also managed athletic facility scheduling for campus teams, departments, and community partners. Additionally, LaSala served as the head men's lacrosse coach at Hartwick from 2015-25.

LaSala has also developed his background in athletics administration, coaching, compliance, and student-athlete development through roles at Adrian College, Clarkson University, Washington & Jefferson College, SUNY Canton, and SUNY Brockport.

A certified strength and conditioning coach, LaSala holds an associate degree from SUNY Canton, a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from St. Lawrence University.
