TROY, N.Y. - Four Union College student-athletes spanning three sports were recognized by the Liberty League for the week ending Sunday, September 20.

Football Offensive Performer of the Week: Luke Sheehan
Sheehan completed 18-of-30 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns to lead Union to a 38-17 comeback victory over SUNY Morrisville on Saturday. He threw touchdown passes of 51 and 47 yards in the fourth quarter to put Union ahead for good after falling behind by 10 points midway through the third.

Honor Roll Mentions:

Field Hockey: Katelyn Birnbaum
Birnbaum scored two goals in less than four minutes off the bench to give Union a early 2-0 lead in the Garnet Chargers' five-goal victory at William Paterson on Saturday.

Football: Jordan Black
Black led the defensive effort for Union in a 38-17 win over SUNY Morrisville on Saturday. All 3.5 of his tackles came behind the line of scrimmage (for minus-15 yards), including two solo sacks and one forced fumble that was recovered and converted into the game-tying touchdown late in the third quarter. The senior also added one QB hurry and one pass breakup in an all-around excellent effort.

Men's Soccer: Kofi Sarfoh
Sarfoh scored both Union goals in a 2-2 tie with Plattsburgh State on Saturday, finding the net in the 25th and 67th minutes to give the Garnet Chargers a 2-0 lead. The sophomore leads the Liberty League with six goals already this season.
