SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Juniors Luke Sheehan of the football team and Iyene Essien of the women's golf team have been named the Highmark Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 20.

Sheehan completed 18-of-30 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns to lead Union to a 38-17 comeback victory over SUNY Morrisville on Saturday. He threw touchdown passes of 51 and 47 yards in the fourth quarter to put Union ahead for good after falling behind by 10 points midway through the third.

Essien finished in third place at the Union Fall Invitational over the weekend, tying for the best score of the day with a Sunday 78 to move up into third place at 160. After starting day two with four straight bogies, she rebounded with two birdies and two pars to finish the front nine with a 39, then came in with five straight pars for another 39. The junior finished the weekend as the field's top scorer on the par-fours, averaging 4.2 strokes per hole.
