Lettered in hockey at Chugiak High School before playing for the Trail Smoke Eaters of the British Columbia Hockey League under head coach Tim Kehler • Posted 36 goals and 51 assists in 118 games • Only registered 35 penalty minutes • Named captain of the Chugiak team in his senior season • Was a 2nd Team All-State selection in 2003-04.
